During my time with the USF Career Center I was tasked with creating a postcard that reflected the value systems across the University. These postcards were intended to go out to employers who may be unfamiliar with us so it was important that each value was easily reflected and understood. I mapped out a theme that highlighted unique aspects whilst incorporating certain elements that reflected part of my own experience at USF as a student. When breaking it down, there were three important concepts that I wanted to include throughout this illustration. The unique campus location in the heart of San Francisco, our well acclaimed ethnic and cultural diversity, and finally our progressive value system which often prioritizes marginalized communities. I aimed to subtly highlight each of these values throughout the visual narrative of this illustration. Using Procreate, I aimed to capture a youthful and fun aesthetic in my illustration. I chose flat tones paired with vibrant colors to convey the positive spirit of the card. Ultimately, my goal was to leave viewers with an uplifting impression of our students and the University.
